Monthly wrap up | February 2023

February was, for me, the month of a new beginning and also the month of my first DNF. I wasn’t too into reading as I started a new job, so I was too exhausted to read when I was home. However, I started reading again toward the end of the month as I began to settle a little into a new routine.

Nevertheless, I’m happy with this month as even if I struggle due to all that changes, it gave me a little push, and this feeling will follow me through the year.

Let’s start with the stats!

Statistics

I read seven books, including a DNF, which means that I read a total of 1,087 pages, an average of 39 pages per day. I spent 20 days reading for a total of 17h42min. I thought that I would mixed read a lot but in the end I only listened to 4h07 of audiobook. The average rating for this month is 2.63 out of 5 which is a low one.

I read one e-books, which were novellas, five books in physical, and one in mixed medium. For the format, I mainly read in the novel form, and I also read two novellas. I started this year with a majority of books categorised as adult ones. I bought nineteen books, primarily e-books, on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.

Books

OLYMPUS TBR

What Kind of Woman by Kate Baer (HarperCollins)

Rating: none

This book was for Apollo, and I needed to read poetry. I don’t know what to think about this one; the thing is that I don’t know if I’m the target, and this feeling was present during my reading.

La Chatte (The Cat) by Colette (Livre de poche)

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s the first book that I read after starting my job. It corresponds to the prompt of a deceased author by Hades. I’m surprised to have liked it, even if it was a short and classic one. review incoming

Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton (Ebury Spotlight)

Rating: none

As it was for Apollo pick: the protagonist is an artist; I needed to read this one, I searched for it for a long time, and I’m so pleased to have it that I couldn’t wait.

OTHER

Knot Again by Kawan Jackson (Berkeley)

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I started it the previous month, and I finally finished it. Unfortunately, I was less enthusiastic than the previous one.

Valentine’s by Carly Spade (Self-pub)

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

I read this book on Valentine’s Day, and like for the one above, I didn’t really like it, but this time it’s because I didn’t read their story in the main series.

The Murder Game by Tom Hindle (Century)

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wanted something easy to read, and this one arrived in my letter box, on point. It’s a good book for people who start reading mysteries, but it wasn’t for me.

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin (Knopf Books)

DNF @27%

I tried really hard to like this book, but sadly, after two tries, I just couldn’t and DNFed it. I attempted to read it at the beginning of the month and then did a soft DNF, but I live well without reading it.

I only have a little on my plate next month, except if there is a readathon. I’m free to read whatever I want and glad about it.

And you, which books did you read for to start this year? Let me know in the comment or put a ✨.

Liz.
