Goal 2022

Hey book lover,

Here are all the reading goals for 2022. They are ten, that’s quite a lot, but they mostly complete each other. Some of them are new, some are reused from last year, and one is kinda mainstream but valuable for my own sanity for 2022.

For my Goodreads goal, I will do the same as last year. I will go five books by five books.

1. Read when I want

For me, it means not forcing myself to read every day. I tried to do it for one month last year, and yeah, I read a lot, but it was difficult when I wasn’t in the mood.

2. Don’t hesitate to mood read

Toward the end of the year, I went into a big mood read state, and I immensely liked it. So that’s why I changed my TBR game to include this part.

3. Quality over quantity

This one is because, as I said in one of my posts, I feel that I don’t appreciate the books I’m reading as I should as I try to read them fast to post a review twice a week. So, for 2022, I will not give myself a specific date to publish a book review. However, I will still post a review per week if there is more good; if not, no problem.

4. Take time to read

This goal is linked with the previous one. I just want to take more time to read and appreciate a book.

5. Do not hesitate to DNF

It was one of my goals for last year, and I very liked it! I used it twice in 2021, but I need to write it to respect it.

6. Read more out of my comfort-zone

Last year, I tried to read more out of my comfort-zone books, and even if they intimidate me for some reason, I would like to do it more in 2022.

7. Read more big book

I have a lot of big books, some of them are series, and some are standalone, but I struggle to take them as it takes more time to read, and I don’t want to “lose” time by reading them instead of reading 2 to 3 smaller books.

8. Read more ARC

This one is the same as last year as I like to have some books in advance and share my thoughts about them before they are out.

9. Read more non-fiction

Same as the previous one, it was there last year. Now, as I want to take more time to read books, I hope to read more non-fiction as I struggle to take them as it always takes me a long time to read them.

10. Finish more series

I have a lot of series, and some of them are in progress, so I would like to make a good dent in it, so I can start new ones at the same time.

I’m quite happy of this list and it’s managable so I can’t wait to respect it this year!!

And you do you have a list of goals for 2022?

See you soon,

Liz.

Awesome goals! What constitutes ‘out of comfort zone’ books for you? For me, it’s genres that are outside of my usual SFF. I don’t enjoy romance at all, but I feel I’ll have to tackle a couple just so I can better learn the craft of writing. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
