Mini review | Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala

CW: Death, murder, drug use, fatphobia

Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.

  • Food is a big part of this book, it doesn’t matter if you’re hungry or not when you close the book you’ll be craving the meal or the sweets that are described.
  • It was a quick read because it’s predictable. You understand right at the beginning what will happened when everything is explained at the end. There is just a plot twist that I didn’t see coming but I was relieved it happened.
  • The “romance” parts weren’t my favourite. I know it was to demonstrate a behaviour from some characters, but it doesn’t help the plot.
  • I don’t know how I feel about the relationships between the characters. I liked to see it and at the same time I was so mad at them as it excuses some behaviours or sentences said that aren’t kind.
  • I won’t continue this series not because it’s a bad one just I have a ton of series in progress and I want to only continue the ones that I have high rating.
