For the first month of 2023, I was ready for it. I didn’t start the year with a DNF, and my reading pace was fantastic as I read a lot. I’m even surprised by how much I achieved in just one month. I hope it will be the beginning of a good reading year and keep it like that throughout 2023. Finger cross!!
Let’s start with the stats!
Statistics
I read nine books which means that I read a total of 2,383 pages, an average of 77 pages per day. I spent 26 days reading for a total of 42h18min. I mixed read a lot and I listened to 18h28 of audiobook. The average rating for this month is 3.64 out of 5.
I started two new series in January, Alex Stern and Haunted Tearoom. I also continue two others, The Apothecary Dairies and Real Men Knit. I bought eleven books, primarily e-books, on Kindle Unlimited and Audible. I read two e-books, which were novellas, five books in physical, and three in mixed medium. For the format, I mainly read in the novel form, and I also read two mangas. I started this year with a majority of books categorised as adult ones.

Books
OLYMPUS TBR
Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie (HarperCollins)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was for Hestia, and I needed to read a classic. I have mixed feelings toward this one as I watched it a ton, and I knew what would happen while reading it, and it’s frustrating. Review incoming.
Tea is for Trouble by Karen Sue Walker (Self-published)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s a book that I listened to while reading, which corresponds to the prompt audiobook by Hephaestus. I will try to read the next one to better view the series, and I will decide at this moment if I will continue or not.
Unwell Women by Elinor Cleghorn (W&N)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As it was a title pot pick, I needed to read this one, and it was kinda complicated as you have a lot of information, and it’s a big book. Review incoming.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo (Flatiron)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one was a prompt from Athena: to read a book by my favourite author. I wanted to read this book as I wanted to know if I would buy the next in the series.
The Apothecary Dairies Vol. 4 by Itsuki Nanao (French version: Pika)
Rating: none
This book completes the prompt POC rep, which is Hermes. I picked it as I didn’t want to read a big book that day, but I didn’t mind a shorter one, and I need to continue this series as one of the volumes was published earlier this month.
OTHER
Damaged by Onley James (Self-published)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally!! This is a novella in the Necessary Evils series, and I searched for it all last year as I binge-read this series and wanted so much to read it. However, I couldn’t find it, so now I’m happy to have found it.
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood (Berkley)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I read this book since the end of last year; it was on my mind. Did I now understand why it’s a beloved one? Yeah, and now I need more books from her.
The Apothecary Dairies Vol. 5 by Itsuki Nanao (French version: Pika)
Rating: none
With this one, I finished the first arc of the series. I can’t wait to continue it.
The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow (Amazon Original Stories)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s a short novella that is possible to read via Kindle Unlimited. I like it, it’s a strange story at the beginning, but everything comes together at the end. Review incoming.
IN PROGRESS
Knot Again by Kwan Jackson (34%)
Next month will be a little more challenging as I may have a significant change in my life. As a result, I will need a new organisation to continue my reading, but we will see. If you want to know my Olympus TBR for February, click here.
And you, which books did you read for to start this year? Let me know in the comment or put a ✨.
Liz.
