How to explain this month without being rude? It was a hectic one, as the reading slump was definitely there. I completed my Olympus TBR because I have read more than five books, but I failed it as I only read one of the books on it. So, in the middle of the month, I decided to cancel this TBR, and just mood read. Even that, I struggled to do it! Welcome back to a bad month and shitty mental health. A good thing about this month was that I watched Wednesday, and I really liked it. Also, yeah, like with my book, I have a tendency to binge-watch series.
While writing this post, I can say that it won’t be a long one like at all.
Let’s start with the stats!
Statistics
I read twelve books in the month, including one started last month that I finished at the beginning of November. With all that, I read a total of 2,827 pages, an average of 94 pages per day. I spent 16 days reading for a total of 20h34min. The average rating for this month is 3.67 out of 5, but it’s not a real one as I read only two books where I gave a rating; the others were either mangas or graphic novels, and I DNFed one book.
I still don’t have any bonus card.
Here are the books I read in November:
Books
OLYMPUS TBR
A Line to Kill by Anthony Horowitz (Penguin Books)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was the one for Hephaestus and the prompt second chance. I wanted to give this series a second chance as I read the two previous books and DNFed the second. However, even if I liked the trope, I didn’t like how it was executed, and the rest was meh. Now I know that I can DNF this series.
Cardcaptor Sakura – Clear Card Arc Vol.12 by CLAMP (Pika)
Rating: none
It’s an uplifting/comforting book, as I grew up with the anime of Cardcaptor Sakura, so yeah, I have one more book read in my TBR, even if it’s a replacement.
OTHER
The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Penguin Books)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wanted to finish at least a series, so here is it. I know there is a fourth book in the series, but heck no, I won’t read it! It wasn’t a series for me, and this love triangle was boring.
The Apothecary Diaries by Itsuki Nanao
Rating: none
I read it in French and was so intrigued that I bought books 2 and 3.
Rating: none
I’m still determining if it’s more of a graphic novel or a manga, but I liked it. However, in France, only the first one is available; the next one will be published on the 20th of January.
My Roommate is a Cat by Minatsuki Tsunami
Rating: none
I have already watched the anime, and I know what will happen. I’m not prepared for it but here I am, having volumes 2 and 3 at home.
Lore Olympus by Rachel Smyth (Del Rey)
Rating: none
Just OMG, this ending, also Eros, I really like him; he is just a sweetheart.
Le Vieil Homme et son Chat dorment sur leurs deux oreilles by Nekomaki (Casterman)
Rating: none
I laughed so much with this one, which was a good thing, as I had a shitty day. I totally related to some of the events. I have two cats, and sometimes you don’t know if you need to stop them or just let them be.
Ex- Yakuza and Stray Kitten vol.1 by Riddle Kamimura
Rating: none
I totally bought books 2 and 3 right after reading this one. You have so much cuteness in it!
Komi Can’t Communicate Vol. 4 by Tomohito Oda
I’m up to date with this series. I can’t wait to have the next volume, but for that, I need to wait for next year.
The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid (Del Rey)
Rating: DNF @38%
I wasn’t into the book, and I had the feeling of already having read this story, so I preferred to DNF it.
IN PROGRESS
Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher
I’m 41% in it, but I’m not as into it as the previous one. Like I struggle to pick it up, but when I do, I have a great time reading it.
This month wasn’t great but it’s in the past. Now, we are in December and I have two TBR (here), but I also want to mood read and switch between them. Let’s see what December have in stock for me!
And you, which books did you read for this month? Let me know in the comment or put a 🎄.
Liz.
