Hello everyone,
In October, I felt like I didn’t read enough, and I had the idea to do a 48 hours readathon from the 28th to 30th as I started it at 11am. The only thing was that I didn’t want to just read, and that’s it. I wanted to have some challenges, so that’s why I decided to do a Mini Star-Hop. This is a shorter version of Stephanie’s Bookverse (her channel) TBR game: Star-Hop.
The concept of the readathon
Nothing changes compared to the read game except that it’s a smaller board with fewer spaces. The only goal is to finish the board, but to accomplish it, you need some rules:
- Use only one dice
- You roll the dice only when you have finish the book (lot more challenging and fun)
- When you fall on the warm-hole/black-hole, you read a book AND you go back to the start
The prompts
The board comprises four forms: stars, moon, sun and warm-hole/black hole. Each of these shapes represents a level of difficulty for the prompt.

For the prompts, I create a wheel for each shape and put a mix of my prompts and Stephanie’s prompts.

For the warm-hole/black-hole, I just decided to go for one of the books I needed to read that month and didn’t.
The books
I made a graphic with all the shapes, the prompts and the book. The total was four books, and I cheated a little as I postponed a part of the readathon, so I technically didn’t finish the last one at the end of the readathon, but due to an issue, I consider it read.

My experience
In the end, I didn’t finish the board, but I don’t mind as in 48 hours, I knew that I wouldn’t do it and because I had a big migraine which made things quite hard to do, like reading which is the purpose of a readathon and the warm-hole/black-hole also didn’t help.
I may do another one during the last two months of the year as it still helped me to read four more books than I thought I would read. And you, have you already participated in one readathon? Or do you want to do it? If yes, which one?
If you have any experience with this kind of readathon, don’t hesitate to share it in the comment.
Bye, bye
Liz.
