1st book in the Dreamland Billionaires Series

51th book of 2022
Rowan
I’m in the business of creating fairy tales.
Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels.
Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland.
My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her.
Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias.
By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late.
People like me don’t get happy endings.
Not when we’re destined to ruin them.
Zahra
After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland’s most expensive ride, I should have been fired.
Instead, Rowan Kane offered me a dream job. The catch? I had to work for the most difficult boss I’d ever met. Rowan was rude and completely off-limits, but my heart didn’t care. At least not until I discovered his secret. It was time to teach the billionaire that money couldn’t fix everything. Especially not us.
CW: Sexual content, death of a parent, emotional abuse

Review
I bought this book just to see what I would think of a hyped book. But, let me tell you, it was freaking worth it, even if it was a romance of more than 400 pages.
Okay, let’s be honest, I love the grumpy/sunshine trope, and this book confirmed it. But, oh my god, the tension between them and the same for the pining, it was at a very high level. It was a pleasure to discover more about Rowan and see him evolve with Zahra’s help and become more human. They are so different and, at the same time, so complementary.
Be aware that this book is a little too predictable, but I didn’t care at all for once. I think that comes from the fact that Zahra always responds to it like a queen, even if she is hurt by the event and some of Rowan’s choices. There is something so intriguing that you just want to read this book and see what’s happening, but at the same time, you don’t want it to be finished. This romance is addictive
The only problem I had was the characteristics of Dreamland Park. It was too similar to Disneyland Paris. This element was, at the same time, a good thing and a bad one, as I could quickly be immersed in this fabricated world. Still, it feels too similar and sometimes puts me out of the immersion in the book.
I didn’t see the 400 pages, and I can’t wait to have book two to read what will be, I think, a great couple.
Liz.
