May’s mini-reviews

In May, I read many books, and some were especially short, which means that I didn’t give them any rating. Also, There are two mini-reviews that are my overall thoughts about the two series.

Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card Arc vol.11 by CLAMP

  • It feels like it’s nearly the end, and I’m sad, but at the same time, I can’t wait to have volume 12.
  • I wasn’t prepared for Momo’s transformation, I know the creatures have a humanoid form, but I was surprised by it.

Galatea: A Short Story by Madeline Miller

  • It’s a very short story (49 pages), but it delivers so much more than if it was a long book.
  • Galatea isn’t the myth that I know by heart like some other ones, but it’s easy to follow and understand even if you don’t really know it. Still, I was a little confused initially, but I didn’t have any problems for 1 or 2 pages after.
  • This ending is the best I have read for a long time, and as I read it just before going to bed, I was smiling A LOT.

The Tea Dragon Festival by Kay O’Neill

  • OMG!! This story was so cute. It’s like a prequel to The Tea Dragon Society, and I loved it.
  • I was so happy to see more of this world and the last pages explaining the different kind of dragons and how they relate to each other. Also, you discover some variations of some tea dragons and they are so cute, but so well-thought.
  • The characters’ relationships are so sweet to see and read about. The close-knit between the villagers is a breath as if they are a big family, and everyone accepts everyone for who they are, and that’s all.

The Tea Dragon Tapestry by Kay O’Neill

  • In this one, we are back with all the characters of the first book and some of the second. You quickly understand why the second book was about other characters.
  • You discover some new elements about one of the characters. Those scenes were beautiful and peaceful, and the colours used helped a lot with this feeling.

Halloween by Carly Spade

  • It was a funny novella, but I liked being back with the characters.
  • I read it, but I should have to wait for a little and read it after book four of the Contemporary Mythos series: Eros, as you have the couples of the first four books. Especially for one, it was a little spoiler-y for me.
  • Nevertheless, I would have totally said yes to having Halloween in the Underworld. It was funny how even if they are with ex-human girls, the gods still don’t have the TV shows references.

Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman

  • I re-read the series as I watched the show on Netflix and only wanted to do it.
  • I STILL FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!
  • I can’t wait for the fifth and last book.

Necessary Evils Series by Onley James

  • I don’t know why but I was engrossed in this series of psychopath brothers who find love.
  • It depends on the book, but sometimes I didn’t really like the love interest. They are helpful and have an interesting back story, but that’s all. However, I was rooting for some of them and the Mulvaney brothers.
  • The book has kinda the same construction, and it’s always an insta-love. Still, I didn’t mind in this series as the brothers were totally different from each other.
  • I did a full review for the first book, Unhinged here, but I won’t do it for all the books. So now I just need to wait for August to have the sixth book and discover a new brother and his love interest.

Here are all the books that I just wanted to do a mini-review and not a real one. I hope you liked them, and tell me what you think about them in the comment if you have read them.

See you next time,

Liz.
