June Olympus TBR

As I spent all May reading romance and I’m still in the mood for it, I will continue in June. However, I will read other genres to add more diversity to my reading as sometimes I am afraid to mix the plot of the books.

In June, I will participate in one readathon, the Whateverthon. This is the second edition of this month-long readathon. It starts on the 1st of June at midnight and finishes on the 30th of June at 11:59pm.

Let’s start with my Olympus TBR!

OLYMPUS TBR

Prompts for June

The rolls

Roll 1 (7)

God: Ares

Prompt: Read a book that have a morally gray or a villain

Pick: Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager (publisher: Ebury Press)

Why: I have some books which can correspond to this prompt, but they are intimidating, and as I need to read this book for one prompt of the Whateverathon, I choose it.

Roll 2 (10)

Goddess: Artemis

Prompt: Read a middle grade

Pick: City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab (publisher: Scholastic)

Why: This is the only middle grade that is the first book of a series that I have. Yes, I have another MG series but only the second book.

Roll 3 (12)

God: Dionysus

Prompt: Read a book adapted in other media

Pick: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (publisher: Piatkus)

Why: It’s the first I thought of when I drew this card.

Roll 4 (16)

Olympus

Prompt: Read a book from a specific TBR

Pick: Jade City by Fonda Lee (publisher: Orbit)

Why: I have wanted to read this book for a long time. Still, I always find this series intimidating as it’s a complex fantasy, but also, the books are massive. This book (and series) is part of my priority series for 2022.

Roll 5 (9)

God: Apollo

Prompt: Read a 5 stars prediction

Pick: Ares by Carly Spade (publisher: Self-pub)

Why: When I read the different tropes in this one, let me tell you, I will undoubtedly love it.

Those are the five books that I will read for June, which equal the small amount of 1,782 pages. However, there are some other books I want to read this month as I will participate in a month-long readathon: Whateverathon.

WHATEVERTHON

This time, we have a bingo board with 24 cases, including five prompts specific to our teams. My team for this year is the Beach Readers, and like last year I pledge 8 books.

The eight books I will read are mostly fantasy or romance. I tried to create this TBR so I could use the books with my Olympus TBR to make things easier for me. I will say that I’m proud of myself for this one as I have five books in common between the two. So here are the three books that I will add to the five books on my Olympus TBR:

  • Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  • Neon Gods by Katee Roberts
  • Delilah Green Doesn’t Care by Ashley Herring Blake (I will also read this one for the Cliterature Book Club in June)

If I read all the books I mentioned in that post, I have 2,885 pages for June. So after the month of May, I can totally do it!

Don’t hesitate to share the books that you want to read this month or give your thoughts about these books if you have already read them.

Liz.
