Weekly Diary #6 | 09.05.22 – 15.05.22

Hello bookish people,

This week was the complete opposite of last week. I read a total of 259 pages. First, I started a book and stopped because I wasn’t interested in it, then I read a manga. I feel that I began to fall into a reading slump, so I didn’t put any pressure on myself to read if I wanted to; if not, it’s not a problem.

Let’s go for this week!!

DIARY

Monday (09.05)

  • I needed to do some errands before working on my blog.
  • When I was at home, I worked on the photoshop and picture taking and retouching part for some posts. It can take a long time, especially when your computer doesn’t want to work.
  • When I arrived at Starbucks to work on my blog, I decided to do at least the review for Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li and finish the weekly post for the first week of May.

Tuesday (10.05)

  • When I was on the train, I realised that I had completely forgotten my earrings, so I went to a shop near the station to buy some as I feel naked without them. One pair turned out to be two, but I really like them.
  • Then I went to Smith and Son, a bookshop in Paris, where I bought Elektra by Jennifer Saint, Neon Gods by Katee Robert (for the Whateverathon of next month) and Book of Night by Holly Black. I also bought a book for one of my friends as it’s her birthday next week.
  • My next stop was Galignani, another bookshop, where I bought two books for my sister’s birthday, the media tie-in version of Heartstopper volume 1 by Alice Oseman and The Fine Print by Laura Asher
  • After all of that, I wanted to sit, so I went to Starbucks for a drink. Then I went directly to the Tuileries Gardens, where I read a little of It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. I’m at 26% of the book, and I am starting to be into it.

Wednesday (11.05)

  • I went to Paris to buy the eleventh volume in a manga series I love: Card Captor Sakura – Clear Card Arc. At least at the beginning…
  • I went back to the earrings shop and bought four more pairs of earrings.
  • Then I went to eat at Pret A Manger and near was a shop, so I went to check their dresses on their website while I was eating. I found some that had the style I like, so after eating, I directly went there, but first the salesperson wasn’t kind, and I didn’t find what I wanted; it was a tiny shop. So I decided to go to another of their shop.
  •  On my way to the boutique, I stopped at Starbucks to buy a drink, and then I walked a lot, but the weather was so good that I didn’t want to take the underground to go there.
  • I stopped at Urban Outfitters, where I bought a shirt.
  • When in the right shop, I tried the dress, but it didn’t fit me, so I instead bought a wrap-over shirt and just a basic t-shirt with a print on it.
  • On my way to take the bus to go back home, I passed in front of a Levi’s store. As I needed new denim, I decided to try some with a different shape than I usually wear, and I finished by buying two. The last time I bought a new pair was in 2018; it was time to do it.
  • After my walk and buyings, I went home and read the manga I bought the same day.

Thurday (12.05)

  • I struggled a little with this day as I had an appointment in the middle of the afternoon, so I couldn’t do anything.
  • I just went to a cafe to drink cranberry juice after my appointment.
  • I didn’t read that day. However, I decided to take a break from reading and only read if I really felt it.

Friday (13.05)

  • I went back to Starbucks to work on my blog again, but I didn’t do anything except that.
  • I still didn’t read that day.

Saturday (14.06)

  • I went to Paris and spent that beautiful day there. I did a long walk near the Seine to have a little wind as it was sunny and hot. I also bought a sorbet, green apple and melon. It was good, but I preferred the apple; the melon was too sweet for me.
  • I walked so much that when I went home, I had six blisters; I didn’t recognise my foot. Of course, the fact that I was in high heels didn’t help, I think.
  • In the evening, I watched the Eurovision Song Contest. I really liked it; it was less ridiculous than the last time I watched it. During the show, I searched for the songs on Spotify to add them to my playlist. So I add the Czech Republic, Netherland, Spain, and Italy songs.

Sunday (15.05)

  • I didn’t do anything that day; I only watched some steams on Twitch on my balcony. I made a long cure of vitamin D.

MY READ

  • I started It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey but still haven’t finished it. I think I read too much romance in a week, so I struggle to read it initially, but for the 26% I read, I like it.
  • I also read a manga Card Captor Sakura – Clear Card Arc volume 11 by CLAMP. I was waiting so much for this volume to be published as we are toward the end, and I want to know how all this series will finish.

This week, I didn’t read a lot, but after the first week of May, I knew it would happen.

I hope you like that post; tell me in the comment if you have read those books or put 🎲 as next weekend it will be the 48h Bookoplathon (spoiler alert: I just can’t wait!)

See you next week,

Liz.
