Hello everyone,
For two weeks in April (11th – 24th), I participated in the Magical Hopathon. This is the second edition of this readathon created by Rachel Cerys (her channel). As usual, it’s about Disney, but this time, it’s based on Disneyland Paris as this year is its 30th anniversary.
The concept
In France, you have two parks: Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studio. In those parks, you have different universes, which means different attractions, shows and meetings with characters.
First, you need to choose which parc you will start your journey. Then, to enter the park, you need an entrance ticket. To do so, you need to fulfil a prompt that differs according to the parc you choose.
- Disneyland Paris: read a book that is calling you
- Walt Disney Studio: read a book that takes you on an adventure
Here is the simplified map of both of the parks (graphism made by Rachel Cerys):

Once you’re inside the parc, you need to do at least one thing inside it before being able to change your parc. If you want to stay in only one park for the duration of the readathon, you totally can. Still, in reality (and because I do that every time I go there), if you have the ticket with the two parks, you can alternate as many times as you want between the parks.
Here are all the prompts for the two parks (it was made by Rachel Cerys):

The books
I managed to read all the books I pledged for this readathon, and I even added another book that corresponded to one of the prompts.

- Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price: this book was for the entrance ticket to Disneyland Paris. I don’t know why but I was called by this book when in April.
- Skyward II: Here There Be Dragonflies by Joe Henderson: as I needed to complete at least one prompt in Disneyland Paris park, I decided to do the first attraction I always do when I go: Hyperspace Mountain. I needed to read a book that would take me out of this world.
- Skyward III: Fix The World by Joe Henderson: After doing an attraction in the Disneyland Paris parc, I directly went to Marvel’s characters meeting in the Walt Disney Studio park, where I needed to read a book with a kick-ass MC.
- SpyxFamily volume 4 by Tatsuya Endo: I stayed a little in this park and went to the Animation Academy, where I read a manga.
- Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix: I finished with one of my favourite attractions, the Tower of Terror. I needed to read a book that spooks me out.
My experience
I went to those parks I don’t know how many times, so I know the parks by heart, and it was so fun to see that I used the same habits for this readathon as when I went there.
It was a fun way to celebrate the anniversary of this world in which I have so many souvenirs. I can’t wait to do another one based on another Disneyland Parc.
Fun fact: my cousin and her family were at Disneyland Paris during the last weekend of the readathon, and I met them there to have dinner with them. So I had a thought dor this readathon when I arrived there.
I cannot wait to do a new readathon; I like doing those readathons as you surpass yourself. And you, have you already participate in one readathon? Or do you want to do it? Which one?
If you have any experience with this kind of readathon, don’t hesitate to share it in the comment.
Bye, bye
Liz.
