Hello bookish people,
Compared to last week, this one was a lot better. I took some reading decisions that weren’t easy, but I needed to take them to go forward. I also had good news, and I received a much-needed package as I didn’t have space anymore.
Here is my fourth week of April.
DIARY
Monday (25.04)
- I finished last week’s weekly diary post, and I was so into it that I also re-arranged my planning and then started some of my posts as I nearly have one per day.
- I wanted to go to Paris, but it was too late, and I needed to start reading Crownbreaker and hopefully make a good dent in it. However, the more I spent time convincing myself to read and the less I wanted to read it. So I decided to DNF it. I know that for some, it’s stupid as it’s the last book of the series. Still, as I was falling into a reading slump because of it and that to read it, I needed a big-time of convincing myself I just wanted that to stop. Also, I didn’t care for the story, the plot line and the characters anymore.
- I went to do some errands in the late afternoon
Tuesday (26.04)
- I received a text to tell me that my bookshelf will be delivered today. I received it, but it will wait until tomorrow morning to be installed.
- I had an appointment at the beginning of the afternoon and as it didn’t take a long time I directly went to Paris after it.
- I worked all afternoon on my blog, then I started Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li, and I read 17% of it.
- I was tidying up my stuff before going home when I received the notification for the premiere of the Bookoplathon video announcement on Youtube. So I decided to go back home a little later because I wanted to know everything. If I weren’t in a public space, I would have screamed when I received the notification.
Wednesday (27.04)
- I built my bookshelf and placed it in my room. I just put some of my books in it to stabilise it and avoid my cat trying to jump on it.
- I then did nothing as I had a family friend at home all afternoon.
Thurday (28.04)
- I completed my Olympus TBR post with the Bookoplathon and posted the article.
- I received a text to tell me that my appointment was cancelled, and it was so strange because after that, I didn’t want to do anything, and the migraine I had since I woke up didn’t help either.
- I decided before reading a little to clean up my books, and now I have two bookshelves for my unread book that are clean and tidy in alphabetical order.
- After a nap, I felt a little better, so I read my current read and stopped just before starting part 2.
Friday (29.04)
- I worked on the wrap-up post, and it took me so much time as I needed to check all the books and the prompts that correspond to them. Of course, it’s always longer when there are readathons.
- I also planned the month of May for the different posts I need to do. Most of them don’t have a date as they are reviews, and I don’t know in which order I will read my books, so it’s just an estimation for the post that aren’t reviewed.
- I read Portrait of a Thief, and I’m now at 55% of the book. My aim is to finish it on Sunday.
- I also have a coupon for 10euros that I needed to use before 30/04, so I bought two books: Bad Blood by John Carreyrou and volume 5 of the manga SpyxFamily.
Saturday (30.04)
- I read Portrait of a Thief, and I read until the third part, so 74%. I hope that I will have finished it on Sunday.
- I didn’t really work, but I was motivated to. However, I saw a photo of Heartstopper on Instagram, and I finished by binge-watching the series for the first time. And oh my god! I loved it so much!
MY READ

- I started Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li (to this day, it’s still in progress), and I’m at 73%. I began to read it as I missed a book for the Orilium. So it corresponds to the Art of Illusion, and the prompt is to read a book with a trope you like.
I need to start the month well, so I hope next week will be at least like this one. I hope you like that post; tell me in the comment if you have read this book or put 🐯 as it’s the year of Tiger, and it has a link to this book.
See you next week,
Liz.
