Weekly Diary #2 | 11.04.22 – 17.04.22

Hello bookish people,

So, this week was a lot more chill than the previous one. I read three comics and manga and one novel. I also started a book but didn’t finish it yet as it’s a big and intimidating one. I also bought many new books this week and needed to return a book to Amazon.

Also, I made significant progress for the different readathons I’m participating in, and I’m so happy with it.

Let’s go for my second week of April.

DIARY

Monday (11.04)

  • I didn’t know what to do with my day, but at the same time, I didn’t want to do anything, so I did something of my day, even if it was not a lot.
  • I went to do some errands; initially, I only needed food, but I spent some time outside as the weather was good.
  • I decided to try walking my cat outside with a leash, but in the end, it was more I was carrying him because he didn’t want to walk by himself. He’s precious
  • When I went back, I took some time to read. I started my first book of the Magical Hopathon: Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price. I’m 38% into it. For now, the only thing I want to say is, Lizzie, please take a break.

Tuesday (12.04)

  • I went to Starbucks to work on my review of Apollo and started on the haul post that will be available on Sunday. It’s a big one that will take me some time to do as it’s a haul of my purchases for January, February and March.
  • At some point at Starbucks, I didn’t want to work anymore but read. So, as I didn’t have my current read, I started to listen to my most intimidating book of the month, Crownbreaker by Sebastien de Castell, as I have the audiobook.

Wednesday (13.04)

  • I stayed at home, where I continued the book haul post and nearly finished it, but I will finish it tomorrow.
  • I know that I have two books in progress, but I didn’t want to read them, so I decided to read the second instalment in the Skyward series by Joe Henderson: Here There Be Dragonflies. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as much into it as in the first book.

Thurday (14.04)

  • I didn’t do what I said yesterday, I didn’t work on the haul post, but I didn’t mind as I wanted to be outside as the weather was good.
  • I went to an appointment in the afternoon, that was only one hour, and then I went to Paris.
  • There I went to two bookshops and god, I bought 9 books, 9 BOOKS!! The truth is I am happy to have done it, except that now I just want to read them all.
  • I still went to the Starbucks, but this time it was to have a cold drink and log in all my books in my various lists on Google Sheets.
  • Before going back home, I went to the Amazon Lockers as I ordered two books there. At home, I opened the parcel and discovered that one of the books was damaged, so I spent some time preparing the return of the book.
  • I didn’t read that day.

Friday (15.04)

  • I didn’t do a lot as I had a family friend at home that day, so I couldn’t really work or read that day.
  • However, I still decided to read a comic, Skyward volume 3, by Joe Henderson and finalised my book haul post that will be available on Sunday.

Saturday (16.04)

  • I decided to go to Paris as the weather was so good as I needed to buy a skincare product.
  • I took a peach iced tea at Starbucks and when to the Tuileries Garden to read Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price. It took me quite some time as there were so many people and no chair to sit on; I finally found one but still.
  • When I went home, I finished P&P as I didn’t have a lot to read (less than 100 pages.) Did I like it? Yeah, but also no. I don’t really know what to think about it.

Sunday (17.04)

  • I didn’t do anything except read a manga, the fourth volume in the SpyXFamily series by Tatsuya Endo.
  • I also received my replacement for Ares by Carly Spade.
  • While I was watching a live on Twitch, I finished by motivating myself to start this post. The final details will be made on Monday.

MY READ

  • I read Skyward volume 2 by Joe Henderson. As it’s comic, I didn’t give a specific rating. The review will be available with April’s Mini-Review post. I read this book for the Magical Hopathon as I used it for the Hyperspace Mountain attraction, where I needed to read a book that would take me out of this world. Also, I used it for Orilium: Spring Equinox readathon; the class was Psionics & Divination, where I needed to read a book set in the future.
  • I also read Skyward volume 3, and for the same reason as before, no rating. Also, same as the previous volume for the review. I realised that this book can totally correspond to the character meeting: heroic selfie spot (marvel) for the Magical Hopathon. The prompt was to read a book with a kick-ass MC.
  • I read Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price. I gave it 5.29 on CAWPILE, which is a normally a 3 out of 5 stars, but as I was doing my review I lower it and give a 2.5 out of 5. The review will be available this week. This is my entrance ticket to Disneyland Paris for the Magical Hopathon.
  • The last book is SpyxFamily by Tatsuya Endo. Same as for comics, I don’t give any rating for manga. For the Magical Hopathon, I used this book for the Animation Academy attraction in the Walt Disney Studio, where I needed to read a manga or graphic novel.

Like next week, I am happy with my week, and I hope it will continue like that for the month to come. I hope you like that post; tell me in the comment if you have read those books or put 🎟 as it’s the first week of the Magical Hopathon, and I need an entry ticket to enter Disneyland Paris.

See you next week,

Liz.
