Okay, so how to say it without being rude? I hated this month! Like for real. My reads weren’t as good as I thought; also, I wasn’t in a good mind space in my personal life. So I couldn’t wait for February to come to an end.
I decided to help myself and not read a book and only read some page of another that was on my Olympus TBR. Yeah! They lose a life each, but I could read two other books to complete my number of the book this month aaand.. not really appreciate those books. Still, whatever I read four books, that’s the positive side of this month.
Let’s start with the stats!
Statistics
I read 4 books and read 40 pages of another one. That means that I read 1,408 pages with an average of 50 pages per day. I spent 15 days reading for 23h20, and I also listened to an audiobook for 40 min. The average rating for this month is 2.75 out of 5 as two books lose a life this month; it’s a low one.
For the book I read, I don’t have duplicates in genres. I read all of them in physical format; I read a few pages in mixed media for one of the books, which is losing a life. All of the books have an adult as a target audience. Also, all of them were from authors that were new to me; one of them was a debut novel.

I still don’t have any bonus card.
Here is the book I read during February with their prompts (if there is one). If you want to read a book’s review, you just need to click on the title.
Books
OLYMPUS TBR
The Phone Box at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina (published by Manilla Books)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖 – –
I needed to read a book with realistic settings for a Hestia card. This book is set in Japan some years after the tsunami of 11th March 2011.
Hades by Carly Spade (Self-published)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖 – –
It was an Aphrodite card with the prompt to read a romance. Perfect for this month of February and its Valentine’s Day. I will continue with the series even if there are some flaws.
OTHER
The Maid by Nita Prose (published by HarperCollins)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖 – –
I really wanted to read this book this year, but sadly I didn’t like it as much as I wanted.
The God of Lost Words by A.J. Hackwith (published by Ace Books)
(review coming the 02nd of March)
Rating: 🫖🫖- – –
I wanted to finish this trilogy just to complete another series.
LOSE A LIFE
Reminder: an unread book has three lives, each time I choose it for my Olympus TBR and I start but stop reading it or if I don’t pick it in the month it lose a life. Also, I can’t read those books the following month even if I’m in the mood.
Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
I read 40 pages.
Sadly, I struggle so much to read it. I can’t explain why but even with the audiobook, I can’t really concentrate, and when I can, I’m reluctant to read it. As it’s the second time I picked this book (the first was in December, and I didn’t have this rule of life), I may DNF it this year.
Crownbreaker by Sebastien de Castell
Didn’t open it.
I didn’t want to read it at all. Even if it changes my plan for this year toward the series I have, I prefer to postpone the reading to later this year.
I’m so happy for this month to end. It was so hard to read all those books. When I buy a book, I always hope to like it so much, but this month wasn’t a really good one. The worse is that you start to ask yourself if you’re in your right mind to not have at least one book that you really like. But well… it’s like that. You can’t like all of them, and some months are more challenging than others. So I want to be positive and say this month is finished, and I can’t wait to start March with a TBR that I can’t wait to begin (March TBR.)
And you, which books did you read for this month? Let me know in the comment!
Liz.
