Hello bookish people,
As we are still at the beginning of the year, I’m like, why not make the list of my most anticipated book for 2022. However, I wanted to challenge myself: I only chose ten of them out of all the ones I have on my wishlist. So, here is all the books that I’m dying to read this year. Let’s go!

The Gifts That Bind Us by Caroline O’Donoghue
Published on February 02nd 2022
This is the second book of the All Our Hidden Gifts series. In the first book, we follow Maeve, who discovers a tarot deck. After making a prediction to her ex-best friend, everything starts to fall apart. Her ex-best friend disappears, one of her cards do whatever it wants, and a strange group appears in town.
You don’t have a real cliffhanger at the end of the first book, but many questions don’t have their answers. I know it’s a trilogy, so I won’t have all the answers, but at least some 🤞🏾.

Gallant by V.E. Schwab
Published on March 01st 2022
A mute girl received a letter from an uncle that she wasn’t aware of having. In this letter, she is invited to come to Gallant, his estate. When she arrives, she discovers that he is dead and that the letter was sent long ago. As she stays in the estate, she is warned not to go outside after dusk and not cross the western edge of the estate.
I think V.E. Schwab will start to be on my must-buy author list. I love her world and character building. However, I may have a little too much expectation for this book.

Elektra by Jennifer Saint
Published on April 28th 2022
Here we are following three characters Elektra, Clytemnestra and Cassandra. All linked by one man Agamemnon and the House of Atreus’s curse. This takes place after the Trojan war.
Another Greek mythology-based book, like no way I will miss it. Even if I still need to read Ariadne by this author.

I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston
Published on May 03rd 2022
Chloe Green is trying to finish high school quietly. The only remarkable thing would be to finish as a valedictorian. However, one girl is on the way to having it: Shara Wheeler, the prodigy. One day, Shara kisses her and disappears. Chloe decides to team up with two other persons who were also kissed by Shara to discover what is happening: Smith, who is Shara’s sweetheart, and Rory, who is Shara neighbour.
Casey is one of my go-to authors, and I can’t wait to discover her in a new age category as it’s their first young adult book.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Published on May 03rd 2022
All I know is it’s a romance between two people of the book world in Sunshine Falls.
Another go-to writer for me. That one also has a bookish theme, so I double up for it!

Madwoman by Louisa Treger
Published on June 09th 2022
This story is based on a true story, one of the first female investigative journalists, Nellie Bly. Here we are following her in an asylum for women on Blackwell’s Island. She will investigate to report the cruelty that exists in this place. However, all this reawaken her own traumatic souvenirs of childhood.
I liked her writing in her first book and how the historical part is well-done. I wasn’t sure if it was factual or only fiction. As it’s based on a true story, I think it will be worse, but I like this feeling when I read historical fiction.

Lore Olympus: Book 2 by Rachel Smythe
Published on July 05th 2022
This is the second book of the webtoon Lore Olympus. This is a Persephone and Hades retelling.
I need this book like now!

Girl Crush by Florence Given
Published on August 16th 2022 (according to Goodreads)
Eartha is an openly bisexual woman who shares her life on Wonder Land, an app where everyone shares their dream perfect life. Now that she is a sensation on it, she starts to be haunted by her past trauma. One of her versions needs to be deleted; which one will it be?
I can’t wait to read this book! I read Florence’s non-fiction Women Don’t Owe You Pretty in 2020, and I loved it, and here it’s a fiction by her?! I’m so up for it!

The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas
Published on September 06th 2022
Teo, a 17-year-old Jade semidiós and the trans son of Quetzal, goddess of birds, has never worried about the Trials. But then, for the first time in over a century, Sol chooses a semidiós who isn’t a Gold. In fact, he chooses two: Xio, the 13-year-old child of Mala Suerte, god of bad luck, and…Teo. Now they must compete in five mysterious trials against opponents who are both more powerful and better trained for fame, glory, and their own survival. (Thanks Goodreads)
I can’t wait to start this duology. I read Cemetery Boys twice, and I loved it so much. I love the representations in his book, and I can’t wait to discover more with this Mexican-inspired fantasy.

Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo and Dani Pendergast
Published on September 29th 2022
This is the story of the Darkling but in a graphic novel format.
As you know, I love the Grishaverse, so no surprise that I will buy it and read it right away.
This is the end of my 10 most anticipated books of 2022. Some more books would have figured in it, but we don’t have any date for them or even information. I just hope that it will be the case soon.
I hope you like that post, if so leave a comment.
See you soon,
Liz.
