I’m so happy to start this new year as I will start my new version of my game (new rules here)! So I will only have five rolls to let me mood read on the side. So let’s go for the prompts!
As it’s a new year we start with a blank canvas which means that I won’t have any Bonus Card for now as I didn’t defeat any monsters in 2022.
Prompts for January

The rolls

Roll 1 (5)
Goddess: Aphrodite
Prompt: Read a book with two characters on the cover
Pick: Queenslayer by Sebastien de Castell (publisher: Hot Key Books)
Why: This series is a priority for the beginning of 2022 and as I had only two left and they always have two characters on the cover it was logical to choose it.

Roll 2 (5)
Goddess: Hestia
Prompt: Read a book while drinking tea
Pick: These Deadly Games by Diana Urban (publisher: Wednesday Books)
Why: This book is released the 1st of February and it’s an ARC that I have since a long time but didn’t read. Also, I wanted something that changes from all the fantasy books I am reading this month.

Roll 3 (19 then 1)
Ambrosia/God: Zeus
Prompt: Read a 4 stars or above on Goodreads
Pick: My Body by Emily Ratajkowski (publisher: Quercus)
Why: This book has a rating of 4.06 on Goodreads. I also wanted to start the year with a non-fiction so I would be more motivated to read more of them throught the year.

Roll 4 (15)
God: Hades
Prompt: Read a fantasy
Pick: Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong (publisher: McElderry Books)
Why: I am so up for this book! However, the therapy sessions aren’t include in the price of the book and I think I will need some.

Roll 5 (15)
God: Hades
Prompt: Read a book with a dark cover
Pick: The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo (Publisher: Orion)
Why: I would like to finish all the short stories that are part of the universe. Also, I would like to read them before the graphic novel that will be released this year.
Those are the five books that I will read for January, which equal the small amount of 1,869 pages. I can’t wait to start this new year with those books!
Don’t hesitate to share the books that you want to read this month or give your thoughts about these books if you have already read them.
Liz.
