my reading summary: November 2021

This month was hectic, first because I read sporadically due to my lack of motivation to read the books on my TBR. One book stayed a long time on my TBR shelf. Like, I started it the 1st of the month, dying to read it, then I didn’t want to anymore. Short books helped me to tackle this month and read a total of eight books. I wasn’t sure at the beginning how many books I would read as a reading slump doesn’t help you.

There is only one book that I didn’t read this month which is Ariadne by Jennifer Saint. However, I won’t give me a punishment for December.

Statistics

I read a total of 2,212 pages in November, which means an average of 71 per day. It also means that I spent 27 hours of the month reading. As a result, this month’s average rating is 3.8 out of five stars, but there are three books which don’t have any rating.

I still have the bonus card: re-roll the dice if I want to use it for my December Olympus TBR game.

Here is the book I read during November with their prompts (if there is one). If you want to read a book’s review, you just need to click on the title.

Books

OLYMPUS TBR

Sparkling Cyanide by Agatha Christie (published by HarperCollins)

(Review available on the 07th of December)

Rating: 🫖 🫖 🫖 🫖 –

For this one, I fall first on Ambrosia which makes me re-roll the dice, and then I fall on Hestia. Her demand was to read a classic.

Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco (published by Hodder Children’s Books)

Rating: 🫖 🫖 🫖 – –

This book was for Hades and his dark cover.

The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa (published by Picador)

Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖 –

This one is for Hermes, and I needed to choose a book which takes place somewhere I would love to visit. Even if we don’t have a lot of details of where everything takes place other than the bookshop, I assume it’s in Japan, and it is a country that I would love to discover.

The Tyrant’s Tomb by Rick Riordan (published by Puffin)

Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖 –

For this one, I first fall on Persephone space, but I can’t use it as it’s winter. So, I need to use a card from Hades, and it was undead and/or ghosts presence. Let me tell you there are a ton of them in this one.

OTHER

Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card Arc T.10 by CLAMP (published by Pika)

Rating: None

I couldn’t wait to read this one. As usual, I didn’t write a review, I’m waiting for all the books to be released before re-read them all and give my thoughts about it.

A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow (published by TorDotCom)

Rating: None

This is the first book of a series and a short one, that’s why I read it. After my manga, I was in the mood to read short reads, and this one is only 119 pages. I didn’t give any rating as it’s a very short book and the first book in the series. It’s more challenging to wrap my head around a rating.

Lore Olympus: Book 1 by Rachel Smythe (published by Del Rey Books)

Rating: None

I waited enough for its release; now that I had it, I couldn’t wait to read this graphic novel. So here I am!! I didn’t give any rating for the same reason as the two previous books.

Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour (published by Dutton Books)

(Review available on the 03rd of December)

Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖 –

I have been searching for this book for a long time. I don’t know why but I didn’t want to buy it on the internet. Still, I found it in a bookshop in Paris (The Red Wheelbarrow, if you want to know) and I tried to wait for December to read it; however, I couldn’t, so here I am (again…!)

This was my November reads. Let me tell you, I need to change my Olympus TBR game to include that mood read part because I freaking loved it.

And you, which books did you read for this month? Let me know in the comment!

Liz.
