Hello bookish people,
This week was a struggle, the book I started the week with put me in a mini reading slump. I didn’t read for some time, but I was back to it at the end of the week. So let’s see my third week.
MY WEEK
Monday 13th: I went to Starbucks to work on the reviews of This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone and The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan. I also work on the readathon summary that I do on Indesign. I also participated in the last reading sprint by Ro (wandering through worlds) as she now does them for people who help her through her Patreon. I tried to read the book physically, but I couldn’t, so I use the audiobook while doing some cross-stitching, but it was still a big struggle to read/listening to it. I will not DNF it because it’s a small book (216 pages), but I would have done it if it was nearly 300 pages. Pages read 114.
Tuesday 14th: I worked on my Spoopathon TBR, and it took me some time as you have different ways to achieve it, which means that the TBR changed following the path I choose. I knew that I would finish my book today, so I rolled the dice and fell on big book, which means an equal or more than 500 pages. I know which book I will choose because I need to read it as it’s an ARC and it’s 500 pages. I read the last 102 pages and finished this book.
Wednesday 15th: I feel that I will fall into a reading slump because I didn’t really read the book I chose yesterday. However, I know that I will receive a book that I want to read later this week. I added to my Google Sheets a new sheet, “Wishlist”, and let me tell you, I start to have too many books on it.
Thursday 16th: I finally received an email telling me that my order for the tenth anniversary of The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is on my way. I also went to Paris as I needed some stuff for cross-stitching. I took advantage of it to go to Smith and Son to buy the third book of The Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan. Accidentally, I also purchased the fourth book, and All Our Hidden Gifts by Caroline O’Donoghue, and The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid. Yeah! I’m like that go for one book come back with three, and I forced myself to stop as there were two more books that I wanted to buy. At the beginning of the month, I remember I said, “I will not buy a lot of books.” This is laughable.
Friday 17th: I received my Olwcrate box, which means that I can finally do my Sunday post (link) but not today as I have an appointment, but I did prepare the plan for this article. As I now have the box, I have one of my anticipated books, which means that I will read it before reading the one I choose for the big book. I also had good news: Ed Sheeran announced a tour for next year!!
Saturday 18th: I worked on the Sunday post as I didn’t have time on Friday to do it. I took all the pictures I needed, and then I wrote it entirely. I tried to read, but I couldn’t concentrate, so I gave up; what four days is without reading? Nothing! To be honest, today wasn’t a good day. I only want to sleep, and that’s all.
Sunday 19th: As I didn’t want to read my big book, I decided to roll the dice again. This doesn’t change the fact that I need to read the big book, but as readathons are fun, I didn’t want to pressure myself to read a book that I don’t want to read yet, so I just changed the reading order. This time I fall on Humans which means that I need to read a book with a main character who is a human. I was so happy as I wanted to start the book from Owlcrate, and here I am reading it. I read 219 pages; yes, I totally smashing this book.
THE BOOKS

The Woman in the Purple Skirt by Natsuko Imamura (review): This is my fourth roll; I read it in two days. It makes me uncomfortable from the beginning to the end, but it’s an intriguing book. This book stands for POC representation on the Bookopoly board and Obsidian Fall for the Magical Readathon.
Little Thieves by Margaret Owen: This is supposed to be my fifth book, but I don’t want to read it yet, so it will wait for a little. This one stands for big book for the Bookoplathon, but it doesn’t fit any prompt for the Magical Readathon.
A Lesson In Vengeance by Victoria Lee: This one is my fifth book; I have mixed feelings for a complex dark academia story. This one is Humans on the Bookoplathon and Orilium Academy Arc for the Magical Readathon.
That’s all my third week of September. Next week I will participate in the Persephone’s Farewells weekend readathon created by the girls of the Olympic Game Readathon (@OlympicGaames on Twitter). I have a birthday, so it will be a busy week. I will see you the same day, next week, for my fourth week of those readathons. Let me tell you, it starts very well!
Bye, bye,
Liz.
