Hello bookish people,
This Sunday, I will talk about a subscription box I received this week.
The story is that I don’t really like to subscribe to a box as it’s first costly (thanks to the shipping), and second I hate not to know the book that will be sent to you. However, sometimes I like to purchase one. The only thing is that most box services are on a waiting list for a subscription, so most of them don’t offer to buy just one box.
When I was looking for one I could purchase, I saw the Olwcrate’s one with the theme: Dark Academia, and when I read the summary of the book, I knew which one it was, and I knew I needed it.
Let’s see what I received in this box!
General look of the box
In this box, we have seven bookish items and a book in hardcover with an exclusive look. The box is retail for $32.99 to that you add the shipping rate and all the taxes for your country.

The box in detail
The bookish items

1. A gold bookmark with its tassel. The quote “It’s better to know one book intimately than a hundred superficially” is engraved on it. This quote comes from the book The Secret History by Donna Tartt and is designed by @paperbackbones.

2. A stamp with the sentence “From the library of” (ex libris) in wood and gum on the ink side. It’s designed by Little Inklings. I always wanted one, so I’m happy with this one.

3. The monthly enamel pin is a typewriter with the sentence “Ex Scientia Ultio” designed by Icey Designs and based on this book month.

4. Some tea (one of the most like drink by book lovers) inspired by the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson. The tea is made by Riddle’s Tea Shoppe which blend tea based on books or bookish concept.

5. A small reading kit for when you travel which is composed of post-it for quotes, sticky tabs to highlight something in your book and a little notebook to write your thoughts, but the most important is that they don’t forget the pen (black ink.) This was inspired by If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio and designed by @paperbackbones.
6. A white book tin box that is collectible (two of them were available in the two previous boxes.) It represents the White London in a Shade of Magic series by V.E. Schwab.

7. The last item before the book is a book sleeve designed by Dri Gomez and based on The Raven Boy by Maggie Stiefvater. You have two sides. The first is the set of characters and behind the Aglionby Academy crest.
The book

The book for August is A Lesson In Vengeance by Victoria Lee. This exclusive edition has a reversible white dust jacket designed by Nicole Deal, an exclusive foil design on the hardcover and silver gilded edges and is signed by the author.
What I thought of this box?
I liked this box a lot; my favourite item (excluding the book) is the bookmark. Some books were used to make some of the items that I didn’t read, but now they are on my list. It was worth paying for this box, especially now that the book is unavailable and the paperback will be available next year. In the future, if a box is appealing, I will repurchase it.
I hope you liked reading that short post, and let me know what you think of that box. Also, are you subscribed to a bookish box? If yes, which one?
See you next time,
Liz.
