This month was strange. I start it too fast; I read a book in two days, then I had a slight reading slump of some days, and to be back on track, I decided to read a graphic novel. Then everything was okay until I went on a weekend with one of my friends. First, I DNFed a book, then I try to read another, but I couldn’t concentrate on it, so I took a break from it. I read a book that I didn’t need to read and used the bonus card to change a book as I wasn’t in the mood to read one of my TBR, and I also realized that I have an ARC to read before the beginning of September.
At this point, I still had one book to read and one in progress. Still, what I have done was I asked for the ARC of one of my most anticipated books of the year. It was accepted (I know, stupid idea as it’s also released in September.) So at this point, I decided to be more organized: I’m finishing the first ARC I started. I’m reading the new ARC I have, and if I have time, I will read the book that is part of my August TBR but couldn’t concentrate on it. As I already started it, it will only be a priority for next month, but I wouldn’t have any punishment.
I don’t know how I have done, but I finished all the last three books!! So I don’t have any priorities or punishment, and I read two more books that weren’t on my TBR!!
Statistics
I read a total of 2,536 pages in August, which means an average of 81 per day. It also means that I spent 39 hours of the month reading. As a result, this month’s average rating is 4.42 out of five stars.

I used the Bonus Card to change a book in August, but I aced the Monster, so I have a new one: change a prompt, and I still have the re-roll the dice one.
Here is the book I read during August with their prompts (if there is one). If you want to read a book’s review, you just need to click on the (x).
BOOKS
OLYMPUS TBR
(x) The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (published by Ecco Press)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖🫖
The book was for Zeus, and he demands a book that is equal to or more than four stars rating on Goodreads. I was dying to read this book, and it is a 4.41 stars rating on Goodreads.
(x) The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen (published by Random House Graphic)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖🫖
This one was for Artemis, and it was to read a green book. The cover is entirely green, and this was a great discovery.
(x) The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (published by Puffin)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖-
I needed to read a book that received an award, and this book was the winner of the Goodreads Choice Award for Middle Grade & Children’s in 2016. This is the first book in the Trials of Apollo series.
(x) The Sentence is Death by Anthony Horowitz (published by Harper)
DNF @ 76%
This book was for Ares and his dark story card. Even if this book was the perfect one as it’s a mystery and that you have a murder, it wasn’t for me.
(x) The Library by Bella Osborne (published by Aria & Aries)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖-
I wasn’t supposed to read this book, as for this Poseidon prompt of reading, a book sets on an island, I chose The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary. However, I forgot that I had the ARC for this book and will soon be released, so I used my Bonus card and switched the original choice for this one. Release date: September 02th 2021
Soulbinder by Sebastien de Castell (published by Hot Key Books)
(Review available on the 03rd of September)
Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖-
It gives me a new Bonus card as it was a Monster card (Cyclopean wall-builders.) I needed to read a book series that has more than 400 pages. I nearly didn’t finish the book and decided to reuse it in September.

Rating: 🫖🫖🫖🫖-
That’s the last book in this comic series so I needed to read it.
