Hello bookish people,
Today I’m going to talk about September and what will happen during this month for me.
Last week I discovered that two readathons would happen simultaneously; they last the entire month, and both in September. Let me tell you; I wasn’t prepared for that as it means that there will be two TBR to complete both of them. As I don’t want to feel any pressure to finish the TBR, I decide to make arrangements for the month. But first, let me explain which readathons I’m going to participate in September:
BOOKOPLATHON
Like in March, the Bookoplathon is a readathon created by Becca and the Books (her Youtube channel) and is based on her TBR game, the “Bookopoly”. However, compared to March, you choose the prompts by playing with the board, which means that you select the number of books you read.
The rules are simple:
- You must start on “GO”.
- You need to use two six sides dices to go around the board.
- If you cannot fulfil the prompt, you fall on you need to reroll the dices and on the following prompt choose two books to complete it.
- If you have the same number on the dice, you have a double and need to add one roll to the total of rolls.

For this readathon, I have many ways to do it. The first one is to use this TBR game and not mine, then I use both of them, but I roll the dice three times for both of them, or I use mine to create my TBR and this one to create a reading order of those books. For this solution, if I fall on space and don’t have books to fulfil the prompt in my TBR, I choose one on my unread shelf, which means I add one book to my TBR.
THE MAGICAL READATHON: ORILIUM
It’s not the first time I’m participating in this one, but it has been totally reimagined by the creator Book Roast (her Youtube channel) This one isn’t based on Harry Potter anymore, but she creates a whole world where magic is present, and we need to take the Novice Path to enter the Orilium Academy.
We have to make a journey through seven sites, and each one represents one prompt. However, in this readathon, you can’t double up the prompt, but to be accepted in the Academy, you need to read two books at least.

For this readathon, I have less choice, but the most obvious is to play my TBR game and pray to fall on the prompt cards that I have in common with this readathon, and if I have only one in my TBR, I add the book corresponding to another prompt I could not fulfil.
ORGANISATION
The organisation is at the same time complicated and simple. The main purpose for me is to read six books, and as I have two TBR games and one list of seven prompts, I need to make some adjustments.
The first is that the six books I need to read do not need to be part of my base TBR. The second is that I will not have any punishment next month, except if I read less than six books.
How am I organising my TBR for this readathon month?
Olympus TBR game: Like each month I roll the dice six times and choose the six books, which will be my base TBR.
Bookoplathon: It will decide the reading order of my TBR, but if I don’t have a book in my base TBR to fulfil the prompt, I select a book on my bookshelf.
The Magical Readathon Orilium: I will try to fulfil the prompts with my base TBR as I have some commonalities with the Olympus TBR game, and if I can’t, I will write them on the Community Shelf card of the Bookoplathon.
My TBR post will be available on the 29th of August
Those things are here because I don’t want to put pressure on myself. It means to be a funny thing to do, and it will stay like this. I will try to make a summary of my week each week of the month on my blog, but I will create two threads, one for each readathon, where I will post my journey on Twitter (@alizee_books)
I hope that I am clear and that you like this first note on this blog. If you want to know more about those two readathons, don’t hesitate to check the link. Let me know if you are participating in those readathons.
See you soon,
Liz.
