August Olympus TBR

I wasn’t sure if I could read all of the books on my TBR, but I achieved it. Please don’t ask me how I don’t know! And I had time to read one more book. So let’s go for the Olympus TBR game for August!

Prompts for August

In July, I didn’t use my bonus card either for this Olympus TBR or during the month, so I still have my two cards: re-roll (for when I play Olympus TBR) and change a book (for the month.)

The books for August

Book 1

Godess: Artemis

Prompt: Read a green book

Pick: The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen (publisher: Random House Graphic)

Why: This book is made for this prompt; it’s difficult to say otherwise.

Book 2

Monster: Cyclopean wall-builders

Prompt: Read a book from a series that is more than 400 pages

Pick: Soulbinder by Sebastien De Castell (publisher: Hot Key Books)

Why: The book is 431 pages which are 31 more than 400, and it’s the fourth book of the Spellslinger series.

Book 3

God: Zeus

Prompt: Read a book with an award

Pick: The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan (publisher:Puffin)

Why: This book received in 2016 the Goodreads Choice Award for Middle Grade & Children’s.

Book 4

God: Poseidon

Prompt: Read a book sets on an island

Pick: The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary (publisher: Quercus)

Why: The book is set in the north of Scotland, and Scotland is on an island and composed of islands.

Book 5

God: Zeus

Prompt: Read a book that is 4 stars or more on Goodreads

Pick: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (Publisher: Ecco)

Why: I’m dying to read this book, and on Goodreads, the average rating is 4.41 out of 5.

Book 6

God: Ares

Prompt: Read a dark story

Pick: The Sentence is Death by Anthony Horowitz (publisher: Harper)

Why: This is a crime/mystery story. Do I need to explain it more?

Those are the six books that I will read for August, which equal the small amount of 2,159 pages. It’s more than last month, but I hope that I can read them all as the week of the 9th of August I will have my birthday and on the weekend I am not home so I will not read.

Don’t hesitate to share the books that you want to read this month or give your thoughts about these books if you have already read them.

Liz.
