I don’t know how I can have finished nine books. It didn’t start how I wanted as I had my first COVID jab on the first of June, and due to that, I was so exhausted I was falling asleep every time I wanted to read (the frustration.) Then I was always outside, the weather was so good, and I can see my friends, so I had a great time doing it. I realised that I still have a lot of books to read in the middle of the month. I wasn’t sure I could have finished all my books, but I have done it in the end, so no punishment for me in July. Yeah!!
Here some stats:
I read a total of 3,440 pages in June, which mean an average of 115 per day. It also means that I spent 61 hours of the month reading.

As I read a book for a Monster card and complete it for the second month in a row, I am winning a second bonus card for next month.
Here is the book I read during June with their prompts (if there is one). If you want to read a book’s review, you just need to click on the (x).
OLYMPUS TBR
(x) One Last Stop by Casey Mcquiston (published by St. Martins Griffin)
Rating: 5/5
This was an Athena card, and the prompt was a book with a good description. This book makes an excellent description of being part of the LGBTQIA+ community in the ’70s and now.
(x) The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow (published by Orbit)
Rating: 4/5
This was the monster card; I drew the Hydra card, which was to read a book with a number of chapters which is a multiple of nine. This one has 45 chapters where you discover a great story where the witches change the ending. Thanks to this read, I now have two bonus cards.
(x) Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor (published by Little, Brown)
Rating: 4/5
This book was a pick from the title pot as I fall on a half-god square. But, even if it’s the first book of a series, I don’t really mind as I can finally say that I read one of Laini Taylor’s books. Also, listen to the audiobook; it’s great.
(x) The House of Hades by Rick Riordan (published by Puffin)
Rating: 3/5
This was a Hephaestus card, and it was a book with fire on the cover or in the title. This book is a synonym for this prompt. Percy and Annabeth are in Tartarus, where you have fire, and the cover shows it well.
Winter’s Orbit by Everine Maxwell (published by Tor Books)
(Review available on the 6th of June)
Rating: 4/5
Hera’s one with the prompt of reading a book selects for a book club. This one was for the Sorcery and Stardust book club in May.
A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair (published by Herself)
(Review available on the 9th of June)
Rating: 3/5
For once, I used Persephone card for her prompt and not for Hades’ one, so I couldn’t put another than this one as it’s about her and there are flowers on the cover. The best book to her prompt which was a book with spring elements.
WHATEVER-YOU-WANT-A-THON
(x) Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas (published by Swoon Reads)
Rating: 5/5
I choose this book for the comfort re-read and because my team genre was low fantasy and LGBTQIA+, and I wanted all the point I can have. I can tell that it’s a comfort read for me, but it’s better to be read at Halloween.
(x) The Wicker King by K. Ancrum (published by Imprint)
Rating: 4/5
This book was for the disability/mental health representation prompt. This book has always interested me, but I was kinda afraid of it, so the readathon gives me an excellent reason to read it.
Ghosted in L.A. by Sina Grace & Siobhan Keenan (published by Boom! Box)
(Review available on the 2nd of June)
Rating: None
I read this book as I wasn’t sure that I could read the last book of my Whateverathon TBR, just to be sure to read eight books and have the deity statue.
I wanted to do some readathons for July, but no, I will not do anything like that. Instead, I will just read my TBR, and if I have time, I will read other books. I have some on my unread shelf that I want to read. So, I’m going back to some peace for July.
And you which books did you read for this month? Let me know in the comment!
Liz.
