49th book of 2021
Reading period: June 12th 2021 – June 15th 2021
Summary
Yadriel has summoned a ghost, and now he can’t get rid of him.
When his traditional Latinx family has problems accepting his gender, Yadriel becomes determined to prove himself a real brujo. With the help of his cousin and best friend Maritza, he performs the ritual himself, and then sets out to find the ghost of his murdered cousin and set it free.
However, the ghost he summons is actually Julian Diaz, the school’s resident bad boy, and Julian is not about to go quietly into death. He’s determined to find out what happened and tie up some loose ends before he leaves. Left with no choice, Yadriel agrees to help Julian, so that they can both get what they want. But the longer Yadriel spends with Julian, the less he wants to let him leave.

Review
As it’s a reread, I will not do a complete review but just give my experience of this read.
That book is a reread for me; I read this book for the first time last year in October, so eight months before, which is a reasonable notice between two readings.
Did I like that read as much as the previous one? Yes!!
Even if this book is a seasonal read and the best period is Halloween, I spent a great time reading it. To reread a book, I need to be in a certain mood, and I wasn’t in it initially, but the more I dive back into the story, the more I was in the mood.
If you want more detail of my thoughts about this book, do not hesitate to check my full review here.
Liz.
