This is my first official list of books based on my game: Olympus TBR, and the last of the year. To see if everything was okay I give it a try last month, If you want to know more about my TBR, click here.

Book 1
God: Hermes
Prompt: a book about books
Pick: The Library of Lost Things by Laura Taylor Namey (publisher: Inkyard Press)
Why: I had a lot of books that correspond to this prompt but Darcy, the main character, is a book-nerd like me. Also, you have a book list at the end of the book and that it’s a big plus.

Book 2
God: Persephone replaced by Hades (as we are in fall nearly winter)
Prompt: a book by a deceased author
Pick: Death of a Gossip by M.C. Beaton (publisher: Ivy)
Why: It’s a short cosy mystery, and I didn’t read one for a long time, and the author sadly passed away at the end of last year.

Book 3
God: Hera
Prompt: a feminist book
Pick: In the Land of Men: a Memoir by Adrienne Miller (publisher: Ecco)
Why: I have this book since the beginning of the year, and even if I have a lot of feminist books, I was drawn by it.

Book 4
God: Aphrodite (I didn’t have any book that corresponds to the first prompt, so I use my bonus card and change the prompt)
Prompt: a book you want to read
Pick: A Promised Land by Barack Obama (publisher: Crown)
Why: 1. Just received it! 2. I start the year with Michelle, and it’s fun to end it with Barack.

Book 5
God: Artemis
Prompt: a middle grade
Pick: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan (Publisher: Puffin)
Why: I want to re-read all the book, so I just need to read it.

Book 6
God: Persephone replaced by Hades (as we are in fall nearly winter)
Prompt: a book with a dark cover
Pick: These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong (publisher: McElderry Books)
Why: The cover is stunning, and this is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet.

Book 7
God: Hera
Prompt: a book about family
Pick: Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch (publisher: Simon & Schuster)
Why: When I knew that there would be a third book in the Love & series I wanted to read it. Don’t ask why it’s like that.

Book 8
God: Hestia
Prompt: a book with a realistic setting
Pick: Charming as a Verb by Ben Philippe (publisher: Balzer + Bray)
Why: I don’t have any explanation!

Book 9
God: Apollo
Prompt: a book with an artist as a protagonist
Pick: Kind of a Big Deal by Shannon Hale (publisher: Roaring Brook Press)
Why: The main character wants to be an actress, and it counts … no?

Book 10
God: Persephone replaced by Hades (as we are in fall nearly winter)
Prompt: a book with a hidden cover
Pick: When You Were Everything by Ashley Woodfolk (publisher: DelacortePress)
Why: I don’t have a book with another cover hidden, so I just choose a hardcover. However, I am waiting for books to be delivered, so if one sticks more to the prompt, I will select it.
I am quite happy with the choices and the prompt, even if I fall on Persephone trice. I hope that I will have time to read all the books as I would like to have a clean slate to start in 2021.
Don’t hesitate to share the books that you want to read this month or give your thoughts about these books if you have already read them.
Liz.
