Reading period: Sep 03rd 2020 – Sep 07th 2020

Summary

Chloe Brown is a chronically ill computer geek with a goal, a plan, and a list. After almost—but not quite—dying, she’s come up with seven directives to help her “Get a Life”, and she’s already completed the first: finally moving out of her glamorous family’s mansion. The next items?

Enjoy a drunken night out.
• Ride a motorbike.
• Go camping.
• Have meaningless but thoroughly enjoyable sex.
• Travel the world with nothing but hand luggage.
• And… do something bad.

But it’s not easy being bad, even when you’ve written out step-by-step guidelines. What Chloe needs is a teacher, and she knows just the man for the job: Redford ‘Red’ Morgan.

With tattoos and a motorbike, Red is the perfect helper in her mission to rebel, but as they spend more time together, Chloe realises there’s much more to him than his tough exterior implies. Soon she’s left wanting more from him than she ever expected . . . maybe there’s more to life than her list ever imagined?

Review

I liked this book a lot. Even if, the prologue was finished kind of abruptly.

The relationship with her sisters and family is impressive. They care so much about her. Also, their personalities are so distinctive, but they are so loyal to themselves from the beginning to the end. I cannot wait to know more about the two other sisters.

I completely love the description of the pain Chloe is feeling; it is so well done that I’m feeling numb when she feels pain. I love how the author shows that it is not only physical but also mental.

The romance is good; I really liked it. Nevertheless, there is one thing that irritated me a lot, the recurrence of the sexual allusions. I know what I was reading, but for me, it was a little too much.

I wasn’t prepared for this ending (before the prologue) I had tears in my eyes.

It’s a series that I will continue for sure.

Liz.
