the reading rush 2020

This last week, I participated in The Reading Rush 2020. This reading challenge is for one week, and you have seven prompts to complete (one book can be used for more than one prompt.) During this week, you also have different sprints on Twitter and Instagram host by different people. You can also participate in Instagram or Youtube challenges and won some prizes.

Reading Challenges

I read a total of five books to complete all the seven prompts. Here are the prompts with the book corresponding:

  • Read a book with a cover that matches the colour of your birth stone: Heartstopper Volume 3 by Alice Oseman
  • Read a book that starts with the word “the”: The Diary of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell
  • Read a book that inspired a movie you’ve already seen: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
  • Read the first book you touch: No Judgment by Meg Cabot
  • Read a book completely outside of your house: The tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill
  • Read a book in a genre you’ve always wanted to read more of: The Diary of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell
  • Read a book that takes place on a different continent than where you live: No Judgment by Meg Cabot

Instagram Challenges

I have done only two challenges:

  • Take a photo of your current read with your pet.
  • Take a photo of your reading fuel.

During this week, I read 1,400 pages. It helps me to go out of my reading slump, that I had at the beginning of the month. The thing that helps a lot too was the sprints on Instagram, and it gives me the desire to do a live reading on own my Instagram (@of_books_and_museums).
