Double-crossed and badly weakened, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz’s cunning and test the team’s fragile loyalties.

A war will be waged on the city’s dark and twisting streets – a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of the Grisha world.

Review

I happily dived right back in the story of the Crows.

The narrative in this book is such a fast pace. Indeed, the plot is a series of adventures, and you don’t have the time to take a breath between them. Moreover, as in the previous book, you don’t have all the elements of a plan. Also, the fact that some chapters are finishing in a cliffhanger makes read without any breaks.

For the characters, I was thrilled to see everyone, and I prefer Nina and Matthias a lot more in this book than in Six of Crows. You also have the appearance of new characters that I automatically dislike. My loath for Jan Van Heck increased with this book.

I want to re-read this duology right now even I just finished it.

Liz.
